Kurdistan Studies Institute visual identity system

Rebuilt the visual identity of an academic institution working in politically charged territory. The brief was institutional credibility — the institute needed to be taken seriously by audiences both inside and outside Kurdistan, on subjects where outside scrutiny is constant and rarely sympathetic.

The system covers wordmark, type, color, photography rules, print and digital templates, and a guidelines document the in-house team could actually use. Across a year, the rebrand shipped over three hundred and fifty assets, three educational films, and the poster series that came out of the same system.

This is where the practice of designing for organisations that cannot afford to get visibility wrong was first formalised. Most of the decisions I rely on now were tested here.
