Poetics Magazine
Editor-in-chief and visual director for a literary periodical — twelve issues, a podcast, a contributor network.
Poetics is the most formative thing on this list. I started as Managing Editor in 2021 — running the submission pipeline, managing the contributor network, building the operational infrastructure for eight issues. Then Editor-in-Chief from mid-2023 through 2024, leading editorial and visual direction for twelve more issues, plus eighteen podcast episodes and social channels that scaled to ten thousand-plus followers.
Every issue was an exercise in voice. Building consistent authority across language, image, and form with twenty-five-plus international contributors, most of them remote, most of them working in two or three languages. The discipline of holding tone across a periodical with that many voices is what shows up in everything I've designed since — the structural patience, the comfort with editorial constraint as a generator rather than a limit.
